Great service even though they were very busy. Turkish food is a variation on Greek with some delicious differences. Beef Humus is my favorite!

One of my favorite Indy restaurants....keep forgetting...got to go more often!
we made a reservation but they wre very busy an still had to wait a half hour...otherwise, it was perfect as usual...and good service even though the busiest i had seen them..took 3 newbies with me and they loved it.

Our favorite restaurant and we had the rudest server !!!! Love the place but will turn around and leave if I ever have to be served by the person that served us.. The owner who normally is there is awesome but our severer was rude n entitled (strange but true) .. if u need the name of the server I still have the receipt !!!

Very friendly owner, especially to the small kids in our large group. Food is terrific, though there is no children’s menu. A mac and cheese option for little ones would be good- even the single serve cups. There are good menu choices for meat lovers and vegetarians alike.
We've eaten here a few times and the food is delicious. Nice ambiance, cozy setting in an old house, so it is a nicer atmosphere than a huge loud chain restaurant and we appreciate that. It is a bit hard to have an intimate conversation because of the small dining area, and you can hear other conversations. My veggies were over-salted, but otherwise the food was good.

Only issue was that the service was understaffed, so wait times were longer than expected. Food was outstanding as always, and was confirmed by my two guests who were visiting for the first time!

cannot find fault with anything. service very fast and friendly with all who serviced us...owner was very entertaining too. it was a birthday gathering and all had fun esp the b-day girl. Everything exceptional!
the atmosphere in there is lovely, very calming. dimly lit but not so dark you can't see your food. nicely decorated too! the food was delicious and the service was very pleasant. we showed up around 9pm and we were the only ones there. they still welcomed us with smiles and provided a pleasant dining experience. and the food was so good!

They were a little busy and crowded, but understandable for the gem of a restaurant this is. The only downside was they were a bit slow in getting us our appetizer.
Food and service were excellent. They make the best eggplant dishes I have ever had anywhere - because of the flavor they get from their roasting technique.
The atmosphere was the first thing we noticed: a warm, inviting space decorated with Turkish rugs and other beautiful items. Service was great; the staff worked together to insure all of our needs were met. The food was amazing. We will be going back on a regular basis from now on!

The food was amazing, again. The Bosphorous Special, a mixed grill of several of their meats, as well as their appetizer sampler, is the perfect combination for trying multiple dishes. The only complaint I have is their did not do a good job of clearing the ice from their sidewalk, it was pretty treacherous.
I took my three teenagers to Bosphorus Cafe because we were visiting Indianapolis this weekend and we had such an amazing experience! It was a Saturday and last minute and we hadn’t made reservations but the host found a way to seat us. The inside is a bit small, very quaint but as soon as I walked in I knew it was going to be authentic. The atmosphere definitely told you this is true Turkish dining and almost every table was full with patrons. We ordered the a couple appetizers, some doner gyro plates and dessert and EVERYTHING we ate was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful and all worked together on a busy Saturday to make sure all the patrons were taken care of. I would definitely recommend this particular location, thank you for the great experience!

We love Bosphorus! Their appetizer sampler is one of my favorite things here. Turkish wines, coffee, and tea compliment the food. Food quality is consistently fantastic.
Very tight sitting.....felt cold air on my feet most of the time..... it is winter, but they could put another door in the entrance to block the cold air. But the food was great and will go back.
The server was rushing and didn't interact with us much.

On this visit, we only stopped in for drinks and appetizers. Empanadas were great as always, and the signature cocktails delicioso! The yucca fries were not as tasty as usual, a little on the dry side.

We came late on a Tuesday, (jerky, I know), and yet we did not feel rushed, enjoyed two appetizers, a salad, wine and took an entree home. The food and service are always excellent.

Great serving sizes, food was delicious and authentic. Parking was a little odd by being mostly off busy street. Our server was very nice and helpful but needed a little more knowledge or the ingredients. Owner was super friendly. Can't wait to take my friends here.

The food was pretty darn good but the server was only ok. The owner/manager that came by at the end of the meal was much more responsive and friendly.

The food was extremely tasty though certain ingredients like out-of-season tomatoes are always disappointing--a problem with most restaurants whose menus don't change. The service was friendly but the restaurant was woefully understaffed--one server for the whole place. We several times had to request the things we still needed and then had to wait. Not the individual server's fault necessarily, but the restaurant needs to make sure they're ready for a Saturday evening.

This is amazing food!! Start with the Appetizer Combo!! It is fantastic!! They serve plenty of bread with it. Then I had the Adana Kebab! I am a big guy and there was more than enough food! I usually get the mixed grill and always have to take some home!
The atmosphere is interesting given that the restaurant is in an old house decorated with bits of Turkish cultural art, but the food was superb. I've eaten there in the past and enjoyed it, but they really outdid themselves last night.

Bosphorus Istanbul Cafe is my favorite restaurant in Indy. Their hummus is second to none, and the food and service are consistently excellent. I always try to introduce my out-of-town guests to this quaint restaurant, and none have been disappointed to date. In an age of chain restaurants, it's refreshing to see a family business thriving based on the quality of their service and meals. The owner only adds to the Cafe's charm, smiling and interacting with patrons, making sure that they are pleased with their dining experience.
The feta cheese plate and stuffed cabbage were delicious!

We sat at the bar. The bartender was not very attentive. He was uninterested in the customers. We had to ask him for a drink and to order our good. They waitstaff that brought the food were very good.

The service is outstanding. One of the owners saw us walking in and made a comment about whether our 10 year old liked to be adventurous in eating. He came by our table later to make sure our young one did indeed enjoy his meal. Very personal touch!

I have been to Bosphorus several times and have never been disappointed. The food is terrific. Our daughter is vegetarian and they have several options of quality food that is not a typical salad or veggie burger. It is great to have a place where the differing tastes of my family can all be pleased.

The Calamari appetizer was Ok but not outstanding. The other Lamb dishes were outstanding. The bottle of Pinot Noir was delightful and a great value. I would have rated the food excellent with the exception of the Calamari.

Service was very slow - the slowest I have ever experienced here. Usually there are several waiters but on this Thursday night, there was one man and he would walk away after setting your food down before we could ask for something else. We had to wait 10 minutes sometimes for him to come out from the back room and it was very upsetting as we brought 2 guests. We have always had good service here. The food was excellent as usual.
The pulled pork must have been pulled off the plate before serving because there was very little pork on the the plate.The spouse had steamed chicken that had been steamed to no consistency

This was our first time to try the restaurant. I took my husband for his birthday. It was cozy, clean and great service. We tried the appetizer sampler for 2 which was huge and really enjoyed trying the different foods. My husband got the lamb dish and I got the chicken kebab and both were served with salad, vegetable's and rice. We were both very pleased. I would love to know what they put on the vegetables to make them taste so good. We had the baklava for dessert which was yummy. My husband also loved the Turkish coffee. I can't wait to go back.
Should have happy hour on weekends and during games. Providing happy hour prices as well as the appetizers.
