I had the half sandwich with soup. The tuna was excellent. It is kinda weird that they don't give you a tomato slice with the sandwich. The chicken noodle soup was fine, but a little bland. My son had the John Q, it smelled awesome and he said it was very tasty. The iced tea was great.
Enjoyed both our corned beef and pastrami, both on rye. Even took one to go for next day, since it was so delicious. Very friendly staff, who gave us tips on our vacation stay.
Icommend prompt, smooth, genuinely down-home friendly, approachable, old-time atmosphere & demeanor of everyone & everything! We were not rushed altho' we arrived (unaware) close to closing, food was just as described on menu, delish & plentiful, varied & visually stimulating. Plan to indeed return & share with friends.

Hot and Fresh food. The Reuben was very good, the fries and slaw were as well. The pastrami on rye was light on the meat portion and the heated meat was somewhat dry.

been by hundred's of times. never really noticed danny's until restaurant.com. great spot for a sandwich. extensive menu, many great looking choices. enjoyed the server's expertise and knowledge of all things danny's. you know that she has a lot of times, etc., invested in this place. everything we ordered was great.
The corned beef and cabbage dinner was excellent, as was the Greek salad. The hot turkey open-faced sandwich would have been better if the turkey were not deli turkey. The service was excellent. Don't let the fact that the restaurant is not that attractive from the outside; it's the excellent food and service inside that matter. We will return the next time we are in Williamsburg for vacation, even though Newport News is a 30 minute drive away. That's how good the experience was.
