Food was ok, service could have been better. Waitress chatted with only other customer for sit down. Little attention paid to us.
Very busy place with a nice size dining room. We had to wait ten minutes for a table to be cleaned up but the owner was so nice about it. Waitress was so sweet and very friendly. Best chicken marsala I've ever eaten. Portions are huge! We both had two meals out of it.
For a pizzeria the dining room was very nicely appointed (even tablecloths!) but there is a less formal area if desired. Very large selection of food. Large salad, delicious calamari appetizer and awesome eggplant parmigiana. Everything came out all at once (salad, appetizer and meals) so the next time we go (which we will) we will be sure to ask them to be staggered. There is a liquor store right next door for the BYOB feature.
Jen is always personable and efficient as a waitress.
Waitress was not very attentive; she was hit-or-miss - didn't ask us for our drink orders, didn't bring plates for appetizer, only came back once during meal to see if we were enjoying the meal or needed anything.

Waitress never asked if we wanted a drink when we came in. Took forever to take our orders and for food to arrive. When my husband ordered his food he asked if he could have chicken on his pasta and she never answered but brought it out anyways.
Food was tasty; however, the sauces seemed blander than usual. Because Mario's is usually never busy, there's usually only 1 server. Last night, there was 1 other table. Our server was "off" - didn't ask for drink orders, had to ask for large plates for pizza, asked for ketchup 3 times - she said the restaurant ran out of ketchup, so she gave a few ketchup packets. Interesting experience ...

First off, the food is excellent. Our dinners ranged from spaghetti and meatballs, to parmagiana's (chicken, shrimp and veal). Prices are comparable also. Service however was a little off. Our server was very nice, had a pleasant smile and anything we asked for she brought over. But, she was not around much and we did have to wait a while, even to fill our drinks. What we did not have to wait for however was our entree's, which came out maybe five minutes after our appetizers. We did not have a chance to even come close to finishing our apps. We had to put the entree's on another empty table because there was no room on our table. By the time we started eating the entree's they were no longer hot. We will go back, but only because the actual food was excellent, we just won't order apps, which is a shame.
Food was great. Server was just ok. Didn’t check if we needed anything after serving food. Had to go to the counter to get grated cheese, bags for leftovers, etc..
We each enjoyed a large garden salad with Italian dressing, and a gluten-free chicken with mushroom entree. Instead of pasta, my gluten-free wife had sauteed spinach. Portions are large - enough to take home for tomorrow. Never fails to satisfy.

You can’t go wrong with whatever you order at Mario’s. The food and service is always excellent. Love their chicken and wild rice soup. It’s so good I bring a large container home with me.

I try to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt, however the food is good quality but the service is absolutely horrible. It is extremely frustrating how poor the service is and how long it takes to get the food

as stated below the food and service below are excellent and my wife I ARE SURE THAT WE ARE GOING TO ENJOY OUR DINNER when we go to MARIO'S
surprised that they charge 4% for credut card use when visa only charge 1.5 to 2.5 %
they only had i girl running the whole floor took for ever waiting for anything . hire more help food is great for price but the services to get it may make me not come back it was saturday night get help !
Every time we go to Mario's, there's only 1 waitress. Although there hasn't "really" been a problem, the system could be a lot more efficient with TWO waitresses.

First time we ever went here in the evening for dinner and on a Friday night. One waitress, so a lot of waiting when we needed something, and our appertizer took 40 minutes to get and our food took 1 hour. Two of four of us received cold food so two needed to go back to be warmed up. Very sad to post this review as we normally love it here and never have any issues. Hoping this is the 1st and last time we’ll ever experience this kind of service.
The food was decent and the portions were plentiful but only a single waitress so the service was slow. The food wasn't very hot and there were bugs flying around the table.
Excellent buffalo wings, chicken marsalla delicious, salad was fresh, delicious, details in making each plate look like a high class restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Food was fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. The server was extremely polite and attentive. Also they offer a 2 liter bottle of pop which made getting drinks there cheaper than most places, letting me not pester the server, and let me take home the amount I didn't use. I'm looking forward to going back.

Comfortably spaced tables, with coloredtable linens and large cloth napkins in a room with large windows. Friendly server[Ashley is excellent in her manner]. Large portions, reasonably priced. We always bring home portion for another day. Good adherence to dietary allergies.BYOB with wine glasses available. Clean dining area, with open kitchen behind. Our go-to date place.

We had a super waitress that was friendly and efficient. The antipasto is an incredible deal for the price of $8.50 and all of our food was delicious.
Staff are really friendly and will customize your order in any way to your liking. Wait time between ordering and serving is quite reasonable.

The waitress arrived roughly a half hour after we sat down to dine in. She was very pleasant and accomodating. The gentleman who had us seated seemed to be bothered and was not very friendly. we had to ask for plates and napkins and cups for our party.

Always great the atmosphere is wonderful the seating is pretty close but the patrons are so friendly and it makes for comfortable dining.We never go with less than ten people but they do have smaller tables for the more private set. We love it here. Not to mention restarants.com has coupons. The appetisers and food arestaurant both good. Very nice comfortable and relaxing

Food was very good, service was poor. The server got the order wrong, we had to wait for several of the correct dishes and she did not clear our table timely. We had a reservation but she was unaware of it and our table was not set.

Mario's is the best family-oriented Italian restaurant in the Northern New Jersey area. Their menu is very broad, offering traditional Italian fare as well as some unique selections. They're not just pizza!
