Best place for fresh fish and generous portions. The staff is also nice. Just keep in mind it informal and it’s a fish market too. The best is eating outside!

I walked into White Cap and was received by a warm welcome. I was able to receive assistance and understanding on how to use my restaurant.com gift card. The food was excellent, and I'm planning to go back soon.
This restaurant has been in Bay Shore for over 50 years & you'll know why when you eat there. Their Long Island Clam Chowder is the BEST!!Had a great lunch today. Hats off to white Cap!!!
Fresh fish market with seating outside and some inside. We sat outside. Very quaint and nautical with the boats docked there. Its really nice and quiet. A beautiful fall Sunday afternoon. Delicious fresh seafood. We love it here!

The food is good, the scenery by the water is breath taking but it was windy and chilly. The inside of the restaurant is small. It's a small establishment but the outside scenery is idyllic on a sunny day.
Great seafood while enjoying the view of the bay. It is a very casual seafood market with lots of outdoor seating. If you sit inside (only a few tables), it was very warm with no AC.

Take out is good and so is their assortment of fresh fish. We bought mussels to take home and cook and found them to be small.
This place is a gem. The staff are exceptional and the food (takeout) is by far the best around. The fresh seafood section is also outstanding with a large variety of fish to select from. Never had a bad experience and have been visiting this establishment for over 7 years!
The New England clam chowder was bland. It usually has more flavor. I was very disappointed.

The establishment was kind, curteous and helpful from start to finish. I called to inquire if they still participated in the voucher service and they affirmed that they indeed still did. They also inquired if I had used the service before and smoothly explained how it works. Very open and helpful. The place has a very genuine and homely atmosphere. The seafood is definitely fresh caught.

White Cap does the best Broiled Flounder.
The restaurant is located in a boat marina and it's very relaxing to dine here. The sound of the sea gulls and boats moving around is very nice. The dining area is under a large tent with 6 foot diameter cable spools for tables. This only adds to the nautical atmosphere. What a great place for excellent sea food. We'll return quite regularly.

I was purchasing fresh fish to cook at home. I shop there quite frequently and the fish is always fresh with a good selection.
I've been living in the area for 20 years and that's the first time I was there. With such a great selection of fish and decent prices, I will be back many times to buy more.
The petson who took my order was very nice and friendly but the corn was frozen and was warm, not hot The shrimps were overcooked. I will go back only for clams or oysters. Last time we had them were fresh and good.

Service was exceptionally slow and all the help seemed to be lost. No one knew what to do.

Seafood Shack/fish market atmosphere. Great deck overlooking the boats in the canal. Very fresh food - right off the fishing boats next to your table. Order at a counter and food is produced hot from the kitchen for you to bring to an outdoor table on the deck. White Cap is down a driveway from the roadside and around the back of a boat yard, so don't pass it by. Loved the steamers (though a bit too sandy).

I used the coupon to by fresh fish...not to dine. The owner was extremely rude and unpleasant. He certainly should not be part of your organization. I DO NO PLAN ON GOING BACK.

Outdoor dining dockside at its best! Very casual. Great place to go after a day at the beach or a hard day at work. The kitchen closes by 7 p.m. so get there early!

We order take-out at White Cap---the food is always ready when promised, deliciously prepared and in generous portions.
Food was great, they let me "take out." Indoor area small in winter, outdoor dining deck in nice weather.

The service was very fast - the ceilings are leaking though from hurricane Sandy damage & it was also melting snow on the roof. The food is delicious - the soup was only lukewarm.
I did orders to go. I was disappointed to see that the fried shrimp dinner I ordered was frozen and from a box, not fresh like I would have thought. The side of clams were ok but just a bit over fried. Im assuming those were frozen from a box also.The fried scallop dinner was good. I did see the fry cook using fresh sea scallops. I asked about the baked clams, if they were chopped or whole clams and the two young boys behind counter couldn't tell me anything about the clams. An older gentleman and woman finally came to take the order and were very pleasant.

Fish and seafood are so fresh. The gentlemen are really courteous.
We have eaten there several times within the past several months; this time we used the coupon for fresh fish that we wanted to cook at home for company. Their cooked food is very fresh and tasty.
They only had soup available because of the holidays but my 2 grandchildren loved the soup & want to return for coconut shrimp next time.

It is a local fish market - during the winter they have about 6-7 tables inside and it is very informal. People who work there are very friendly and the food is fresh.
It was ok, nothing special, baked clams were tough, average fish, fish is always difficult when taken out.
